RENTAL REQUIREMENTS
We encourage you to ride around Kapiolani Park, Diamond Head Crater, through Kahala, along Waialae toward the University of Hawaii up to the Manoa Falls trail. Then drive through the Punchbowl Cemetery into downtown and park at the Iolani Palace. Use our walking map to explore historic downtown then hop back into the coupe and drive trough Kaka’ako along Ala Moana Beach Park and back to Waikiki.
The scoot coupes must stay in Honolulu town. They are not designed to drive with faster traffic and are very slow up steep hills. You must stay off of the H-1, H-2, H-3, the Pali(61), the Likelike(63), the Nimitz(92) and the Kalanianaole(72). Please refer to our map at our Maps and Rides page for the restricted roadways and recommended rides.
You must be at least 7 years old.
There is no weight restriction. The more weight in the vehicle the slower they drive. They only have small 49cc moped engines in them.
Unfortunately you can’t drive out to Hanauma Bay or Pearl Harbor on a scoot coupe. The traffic is too fast and unlike the mopeds you can’t drive along the shoulder.
The scoot coupes are very low to the ground and can often be overlooked by other traffic. Remember to not drive in others blind spots and keep at least a 3 second distance between you and other traffic. As a rule of thumb we encourage you to stay in the right lane at all times, except when you turn onto King Street and need to make the left turn onto Likelike Street to park behind the Iolani Palace.
It does not have a lot of power. The scoot coupe has a 49cc moped engine with a large frame and a two person capacity.
The rental comes standard with a $200 theft/damage deductible and roadside service. Be aware that any negligence to the rental and riding out of our boundaries will void all included coverages.
We run a $200 authorization per vehicle on a credit card.
The rental includes helmets, a lock, a detailed ride map, theft/ damage coverage and roadside service.
You park the coupe just like a car in a normal parking spot. There is no reverse on the vehicle, so you will have to get out of the coupe and push it.
You need to be 18 with a valid car driver’s license to rent our coupe
If you can drive a car in your country with your license then it should work. As long as it makes sense when you present it to us at the shop it should be ok.
The power pass and go cards allow a $30 credit per scan that can be applied to the rental rate.
We will only charge you for the time you used. We will refund any additional time charged.
We do offer cab credit for your hotel pick up. Catch a cab over to our location and we will put the fare toward the rental. It is only available for pick up, not drop off, and only available for direct bookings within Waikiki.
